New vaccine aims to stop deadly diarrhoea in kids

NCT ID NCT05987488

Summary

This study tested the safety and immune response of a new oral vaccine designed to prevent diarrhoea caused by Shigella and ETEC bacteria. It involved 196 healthy Bangladeshi adults and children, starting with adults and then moving to younger age groups. Participants received three doses of either the vaccine or a placebo to see how well it was tolerated and if it triggered protective antibodies.
