NCT ID NCT05073003
Summary
This was the first study in people to test a new vaccine designed to prevent diarrhea caused by Shigella bacteria. Researchers tested three different doses of the vaccine, starting with healthy adults in Europe and then moving to adults, children, and finally infants in Africa, where the disease is common. The main goal was to find a safe and effective dose for infants, who are the primary target for this vaccine.
