Herbal granules aim to stop colon polyps from coming back
NCT ID NCT06930157
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether Shenling Baizhu granules, a traditional Chinese medicine, can prevent low-risk colorectal adenomas from recurring after they are removed during a colonoscopy. About 624 adults aged 18-70 will take the granules three times daily for six months or receive no additional treatment. Researchers will check for new polyps within three years to see if the granules help reduce recurrence.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Shenling Baizhu granules (traditional Chinese medicine)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a natural option to reduce the chance of colorectal polyps coming back after removal.
What could go wrong
This is a phase 4 trial, but it's still early for this specific use. The results may not apply to everyone, and the granules may not work better than no treatment.
