Summary

This study tests whether affordable home improvements like shade, reflective roof paint, and better airflow, combined with practical heat-safety advice, can reduce heat-related illnesses and improve quality of life. Over 7,000 people in low-income neighborhoods of Karachi, Pakistan, will take part. Researchers will compare communities that receive these interventions with those that do not.
