New 35-Minute fitness test could predict surgery risks for seniors

NCT ID NCT05743673

Summary

This study is testing whether a simple, 35-minute fitness test called SHAPE can be easily used to check older adults' heart and lung health before surgery. Researchers want to see if this test is better than current questionnaires at predicting who might have complications after moderate-to-high-risk operations. They are recruiting 371 adults over 60 who are scheduled for surgery to try the test and track their recovery.
