New daily radiation regimen aims to cut treatment time for breast cancer patients

NCT ID NCT05591547

First seen May 21, 2026 ยท Last updated May 21, 2026

Summary

This study tests a modified radiation therapy for women aged 50 and older with early-stage, low-risk breast cancer. Instead of the standard every-other-day schedule over 10 days, patients receive a slightly lower dose of radiation once daily for 5 days in a row. The goal is to see if this shorter schedule is safe, keeps the breast looking good, and controls the cancer just as well.
