Summary
This small pilot study is testing if adding the drug dapagliflozin to standard treatment helps control kidney damage in people with active lupus nephritis. The trial will involve 33 adults who have recently been diagnosed with or had a flare-up of this serious kidney complication of lupus. Researchers will compare the drug to a placebo over 12 weeks to see if it safely reduces protein in the urine, a key sign of kidney damage.
