Hospital trial aims to speed recovery for patients with failing heart and kidneys

NCT ID NCT06111768

Summary

This study is testing if adding a specific type of drug (an SGLT2 inhibitor) to the usual hospital care helps patients who are hospitalized with both sudden heart failure and kidney injury. The main goal is to see if it's practical to run a larger trial by checking if patients are willing to join and complete the study procedures. Researchers will also look for early signs that the drug might help patients feel less breathless, lose excess fluid faster, and have their kidney function improve.
