First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study is testing a new, painless light-based device (SFDI) to measure skin thickness in people with scleroderma, an autoimmune disease that causes skin hardening. The goal is to see if this device is more accurate than the current method, which involves pinching the skin. Researchers will compare the device's measurements with the standard pinch test and ultrasound in 65 participants, including healthy volunteers.
