Heart rhythm mystery: why women fare worse in AF ablation?
NCT ID NCT07580547
First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at why women often have more trouble with atrial fibrillation (AF) after standard treatment. Researchers will map the heart's electrical activity in 100 men and women right after a common procedure called pulmonary vein isolation. They want to see if women have more hidden spots that trigger AF, which could explain the difference in success rates. Participants will be followed for one year to track any return of AF.
