Summary

This study is testing different doses of steroid medication (corticosteroids) for adults in the ICU with severe pneumonia caught outside the hospital. It will enroll 1,500 patients to see which steroid dose is most effective at reducing deaths within 28 days. The trial uses a smart, adaptive design that adjusts as it goes, aiming to give more patients the better-performing treatment sooner.
