Summary
This study aims to understand why some children develop severe bacterial infections that require intensive care. Researchers will analyze the genes and immune systems of 1,401 children who were hospitalized for such infections between 2015 and 2018 in France. By comparing their genetic data with healthy children, they hope to find genetic variants that increase risk. The study does not test a new treatment, but seeks to uncover biological causes.
