New drug trial aims to strengthen brittle bones and cut fracture risk

NCT ID NCT05125809

Summary

This study is testing an investigational drug called setrusumab to see if it can reduce the number of broken bones in people with osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), also known as brittle bone disease. The trial involves about 183 participants, who will receive either setrusumab or a placebo injection to compare their fracture rates and bone strength over time. The goal is to find a safe and effective dose that helps control the disease by making bones less fragile.
