Daily injection trial aims to curb uncontrollable hunger in rare brain disorder

NCT ID NCT06760546

Summary

This study is testing whether a daily injection called setmelanotide can help people aged 4 and older with a rare form of obesity caused by brain injury (hypothalamic obesity). Participants will receive either the real drug or a placebo for 26 weeks to see if it safely reduces body weight, lowers intense hunger, and improves quality of life. The goal is to better control this difficult-to-manage condition.
