First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This phase 3 trial tests whether taking serine, a natural amino acid, twice a day can slow vision loss in people with MacTel type 2, a rare eye disease. About 120 participants will receive either serine or a placebo for 24 months, with regular eye exams and imaging. The study aims to see if serine safely reduces damage to the retina.
