First seen Jan 15, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This Phase 3 study tests whether taking serine, a natural amino acid, twice daily for 24 months can slow vision loss in people with MacTel type 2, a rare eye disease that damages the retina. About 120 adults will receive either serine or a placebo. Researchers will track retinal changes and safety through regular eye exams and imaging.
