Blood filter trial aims to save lives from deadly shock

NCT ID NCT03901807

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a special blood filter (called a PMX cartridge) to standard hospital care helps adults with a life-threatening condition called endotoxemic septic shock. The filter is designed to remove toxins from the blood. Researchers will compare survival rates and other health measures between patients who get the filter plus standard care and those who get standard care alone.
