Scientists hunt for blood clues to predict who survives sepsis
NCT ID NCT07353970
Summary
This study aims to learn how the body's natural inflammation-resolving molecules change in adults with severe infections in the ICU. Researchers will measure these molecules in blood already taken for routine care from about 300 patients to see if their levels can help identify patients at highest risk of death or organ failure. The goal is to gather knowledge that could lead to better future tests, not to provide a new treatment in this study.
