Blood protein may outshine lactic acid in sepsis prediction
NCT ID NCT07289906
First seen Dec 24, 2025 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looks at whether changes in a blood protein called albumin can predict how sepsis patients in the ICU will do, compared to the usual test for lactic acid. Researchers will track 40 non-surgical ICU patients with sepsis to see which measurement better forecasts recovery or death. The goal is to find a more accurate way to guide treatment decisions.
