First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

Sepsis is a life-threatening condition common in Sub-Saharan Africa, with high death rates even after leaving the hospital. This study will test two follow-up strategies—enhanced discharge instructions with or without automated phone check-ins—to see if they can reduce deaths within 90 days. About 1,410 adults from Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, and Mozambique will take part.
