Scientists search blood for clues to predict sepsis survival

NCT ID NCT07332793

Summary

This study aims to learn if specific patterns of immune cells in the blood can predict outcomes for adults with severe infections (like sepsis) in the ICU. Researchers will collect small blood samples from 200 participants during their ICU stay and review their medical records, without changing their treatment. The goal is to identify immune markers that might help doctors better assess risk and understand the body's response to severe infection in the future.
