Race against time: which IV fluid saves more sepsis patients?
NCT ID NCT07240701
Summary
This study aims to find out if one common IV fluid is better than another for the initial emergency treatment of sepsis, a life-threatening infection response. Researchers will compare Ringer's lactate solution to normal saline in 88 adult patients to see which fluid leads to better survival and recovery in the first 24 hours. This is a Phase 4 trial, meaning it's testing already-approved fluids in a real-world hospital setting.
