Scientists probe hidden link between sepsis, clots, and failing blood vessels
NCT ID NCT07404475
Summary
This study aimed to understand how problems with blood clotting are connected to damage in the body's tiniest blood vessels during sepsis, a life-threatening infection. Researchers observed 30 adult patients with sepsis, taking daily blood tests and special images of blood vessels under the tongue. The goal was to gather knowledge to potentially improve future treatments, not to test a new therapy.
