Could a simpler surgery replace major lymph node removal in ovarian cancer?

NCT ID NCT06963268

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests a less invasive technique called sentinel lymph node biopsy in 200 women with early-stage ovarian cancer. Instead of removing many lymph nodes, doctors will remove just one or two key nodes to see if the cancer has spread. The goal is to find out if this gentler approach is just as accurate as the standard surgery, which could mean fewer side effects and shorter hospital stays.
