New lymph node test could reduce surgery risks for uterine cancer patients
NCT ID NCT02598219
Summary
This study compares two surgical approaches for checking if early-stage uterine cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes. One method removes many lymph nodes, while the other uses a 'sentinel node' technique to find and test just the first few nodes where cancer would likely spread. The goal is to see if the sentinel node method is just as accurate at finding cancer but causes fewer side effects and complications for patients.
