New technique could spare ovarian cancer patients from major lymph node surgery

NCT ID NCT07593339

First seen May 21, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether a dye-based method can safely find the first lymph nodes that might contain cancer during early-stage ovarian cancer surgery. The goal is to see if this less invasive approach works as well as removing many lymph nodes, which can cause long-term side effects like swelling. About 30 women having surgery for a suspicious ovarian mass will take part. If successful, this technique could reduce complications while still checking for cancer spread.
