New sensory program offers hope for reducing anxiety without medication
NCT ID NCT06432114
Summary
This study tested a 10-week group program called the Sensory Awareness Program (SAP) for adults with severe mental health problems who experience anxiety. The program teaches people to use their senses—like touch, sound, and sight—to help calm their body's stress response and manage anxiety in daily life. Researchers compared SAP to usual treatment to see if it was better at reducing anxiety and improving coping skills and quality of life.
