NCT ID NCT07409025

First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at whether the sensory experience of eating (taste, smell, chewing) influences how much energy the body uses to digest a meal. Twenty-four healthy adults will eat the same meal in two ways: normally by mouth and directly into the stomach via a tube. Researchers will measure energy expenditure and skin temperature to see if sensory stimulation boosts calorie burn.
