Could a drug cocktail clear 'Zombie Cells' to slow MS progression?
NCT ID NCT07270120
Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether a combination of two existing drugs, dasatinib and quercetin, is safe and might help improve physical movement and thinking skills in older adults with progressive multiple sclerosis. The drugs aim to clear out old, damaged 'senescent' cells that may contribute to inflammation and nerve damage. About 30 participants aged 50-85 will take the pills every two weeks for three months and be followed for a year to see if the treatment is feasible and shows any benefits.
