Ozempic-Type drug tested to curb alcohol cravings

Summary
This study is testing if semaglutide, a medication currently used for weight loss and diabetes, can help people with alcohol use disorder drink less. About 52 adults will receive weekly injections of either the real medication or a placebo (dummy shot) for 20 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in drinking habits, cravings, and brain activity to see if the drug is safe and effective for this new purpose.
