Summary
This study looked at whether semaglutide, a diabetes medication, can improve the number and function of certain stem cells that help protect blood vessels in people with type 2 diabetes. Ten adults with diabetes took either semaglutide or a placebo for 24 weeks. Researchers measured stem cell activity, fat tissue changes, and blood vessel stiffness to understand how the drug might improve heart health.
