New drug aims to calm 'Fire' in hardened arteries

NCT ID NCT07448038

Summary

This study is testing whether a new drug called selnoflast can reduce inflammation in the arteries of people with atherosclerosis (hardened arteries) who are at high risk for heart attacks or strokes. About 162 participants who are already on standard heart medications will receive either selnoflast or a placebo for 12 weeks. The main goal is to see if the drug lowers artery inflammation, which could help control the disease and prevent future cardiac events.
