New drug trial targets enlarged spleen and symptoms in blood cancer patients

Summary
This study is testing whether the drug selinexor can reduce spleen size and ease symptoms in people with myelofibrosis, a type of bone marrow cancer, who also have low platelet counts and have not yet taken common JAK inhibitor drugs. About 58 participants will take selinexor alone, and researchers will use scans to measure changes in spleen size and a daily diary to track symptoms over 24 weeks. The main goal is to see if the treatment shrinks the spleen by at least 35% and is safe for people with this specific blood profile.
