Summary

This study tests whether a self-management program can reduce anxiety and depression in people with head and neck cancer. 144 newly diagnosed patients were randomly assigned to either the self-help model or standard care. Trained nurses checked in weekly during treatment and every four weeks after, and blood samples were taken to measure stress-related biomarkers. The goal is to see if this approach improves emotional well-being and quality of life.
