Self-Injection birth control study aims to boost access after abortion

NCT ID NCT05505435

Summary

This study compared two forms of birth control after abortion: self-injected at home versus getting an injection at a clinic. Researchers followed 263 people in Chicago to see which method people were more likely to continue using for 6 months. The goal is to see if giving people the option to self-inject helps them stick with their chosen birth control plan longer.
