First seen Nov 04, 2025 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looked at whether how confident cadets feel about deadlifting affects their risk of back injury. Over 900 new U.S. Military Academy cadets were given different types of back pain education (cautionary, reassuring, or none) before their fitness test. Researchers measured their self-confidence, perceived spine vulnerability, and actual deadlift weight to see if mindset plays a role in performance and injury.
