Natural mineral tested as alternative treatment for mouth sores
NCT ID NCT06362005
Summary
This study tested whether a selenium gel could work as an alternative or add-on treatment for oral lichen planus, a chronic inflammatory condition that causes painful mouth sores. Researchers compared selenium against two standard steroid treatments in 50 patients. They measured pain levels, symptom severity, and antioxidant levels in saliva to see if selenium could help control the condition.
