New study aims to reduce unnecessary brain scans for blood thinner users

Summary

This study is developing a checklist to help doctors decide which head-injured patients on blood thinners can safely skip a CT scan. Researchers will study 4,000 emergency room patients to find out who truly needs imaging. The goal is to avoid unnecessary scans while still catching dangerous brain bleeds.
