Pilot study tests new Pain-First approach for ICU patients on ventilators
NCT ID NCT02219659
Summary
This pilot study tested three different strategies for managing sedation and pain in ICU patients who need help breathing from a machine. The main goal was to see if a new 'pain-first' approach using fentanyl was practical to use. Researchers also looked at how these strategies affected the time patients spent in the ICU.
