Sleep or awake? study tests best way to biopsy lung spots

NCT ID NCT06950515

Summary

This study aims to find out if using general anesthesia (being fully asleep) is better than conscious sedation (being drowsy but awake) during a specific type of lung biopsy called pEBUS. Researchers want to see which method is more successful at getting a clear diagnosis for suspicious spots in the outer parts of the lungs. About 306 adults with these lung nodules will be randomly assigned to have their biopsy procedure done with one type of sedation or the other.
