Finding the sweet spot: study tests which sedation works best during heart procedure

NCT ID NCT07149545

Summary

This study tested three different sedation combinations during a heart procedure called pulsed field ablation for atrial fibrillation. Researchers wanted to see which sedation method worked best to keep patients comfortably sedated while minimizing side effects like low blood pressure or breathing problems. The trial involved 240 patients at a single hospital in China who were randomly assigned to receive one of three sedation approaches.
