New drug trial offers hope for stiff, painful back condition

Summary

This study is testing the safety and effectiveness of the drug secukinumab in 100 Chinese adults with active ankylosing spondylitis, a painful inflammatory spine disease. Participants have not gotten enough relief from standard anti-inflammatory drugs and have not tried advanced biologic medications before. The goal is to see if this treatment can better control the disease, reduce pain and stiffness, and improve daily function and quality of life over a year.
