Seaweed vs. chemo fatigue: can a natural supplement help?
NCT ID NCT06855524
Summary
This study is testing whether a dietary supplement called fucoidan, derived from brown seaweed, can help prevent or reduce the severe fatigue that often comes with chemotherapy. It will involve 34 adults with gastrointestinal or gynecological cancers who are starting a specific type of chemotherapy. Participants will take either the fucoidan supplement or a placebo (inactive pill) for 8 weeks, then switch, to see which one better controls their fatigue levels.
