First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a new device called SEAL™ that is placed inside a brain aneurysm to block blood flow and prevent rupture. About 279 adults with unruptured or recently ruptured aneurysms are taking part. The goal is to see if the device safely and effectively seals the aneurysm within 12 months.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
SEAL™ Saccular Endovascular Aneurysm Lattice System (a medical device placed inside the aneurysm to block blood flow)
What this could lead to
If successful, this device could offer a safer, more effective way to treat brain aneurysms and reduce the need for repeat procedures.
What could go wrong
This is a pivotal trial, but results are not yet final. The device may not work for all aneurysm types, and risks like vessel narrowing or incomplete blockage remain.
