First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026

Summary

This study tests a program called SCThrive, which includes virtual group sessions and a mobile app, to help 260 teens and young adults (ages 13-21) with sickle cell disease take charge of their health. Participants will complete surveys before, after, and 3 months after the 8-week program. Researchers will compare their results to those receiving standard care to see if the program improves self-management, daily functioning, and reduces emergency room visits.
