New strategy could prevent unnecessary pacemakers after TAVR
NCT ID NCT07414485
First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looked at 209 people who had a heart valve replacement (TAVR) and were sent home without a pacemaker. Researchers wanted to see if combining an EKG, a CT scan, and the depth of the new valve could better predict who would later develop dangerous heart rhythm problems needing a pacemaker. The goal was to find a safer way to reduce unnecessary pacemaker implants while keeping patients safe.
