Carpal tunnel surgery history may reveal hidden heart condition
NCT ID NCT07580872
First seen May 15, 2026 ยท Last updated May 15, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether people who had carpal tunnel release surgery on both hands between 2010 and 2015 might have an undiagnosed heart condition called cardiac amyloidosis. The condition involves protein buildup that stiffens the heart. Participants aged 55 and older will get a special heart scan (PYP scan) to check for these proteins. The goal is to find the condition earlier so treatment can start sooner.
