First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study will see if testing and treating pregnant women for chlamydia and gonorrhea can lower the chance of having a baby too early (before 37 weeks). About 2,000 pregnant women in Botswana will join. Half will get usual care, and half will also get tested for these infections early and later in pregnancy. The goal is to find out if this approach is safe, effective, and affordable.
