First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looks at how common undiagnosed atrial fibrillation (Afib) is in women aged 70 and older. Afib can raise the risk of stroke, and women often have worse outcomes. Researchers will use a wearable device to check heart rhythm for two weeks and track how many women are found to have Afib and receive blood thinners to prevent stroke.
