Hopkins tests 'Pain Scrambler' for debilitating brain disorder

NCT ID NCT05653778

Summary

This study is testing whether a non-invasive electrical therapy called 'scrambler therapy' can reduce severe nerve pain in people with corticobasal syndrome, a rare and debilitating movement disorder. Researchers will compare scrambler therapy to a standard electrical nerve stimulation treatment in about 25 participants to see if it provides meaningful pain relief. The goal is to gather evidence to support a larger future trial for this hard-to-treat symptom.
