Smart glove could revolutionize stroke rehab by measuring touch
NCT ID NCT06643273
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing a special glove equipped with sensors to measure how well stroke survivors can feel touch. The glove is part of a larger robotic rehabilitation program aimed at improving both movement and thinking skills. Researchers will enroll 126 people who had a stroke within the last six months to see if the glove works reliably and safely. The goal is to develop a better tool for assessing sensory problems after stroke, which could help tailor rehabilitation exercises.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
haptic glove (sensor-equipped glove for tactile assessment)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a better way to measure touch sensation after stroke, helping doctors personalize rehabilitation.
What could go wrong
This is an early feasibility study focused on testing the glove's reliability, not on proving treatment benefits. The device may need further refinement before it can be used widely.
